Nido and Toddler Foundational Studies Registration: May 2023

The Nido and Toddler Foundational Studies is the first section of our Montessori Teacher Certification training program and serves as an orientation to the principles and pedagogy needed to work with children from ages birth to three in a Montessori environment.

It blends weekly community working sessions, intensive seminars, guided materials practice, classroom observations and independent album study to address how the Montessori classroom works, with deep dives into specific Montessori lessons and how they integrate with the whole curriculum. It can be taken anywhere you have an internet connection yet you will access to Montessori materials for your Guided Materials Practice and Album assignments. You will have access to a learning platform to view your assignments, mark your attendance and access resources. Your access to this learning platform will expire 9 months from the start date (start date = 5/2/2023, Altitude access expiration = 2/2/2024)

After you finish your Foundational Studies, you'll have the chance to transfer your work to meet the prerequisites for our MACTE accredited Montessori Teacher Certification Diploma program. The completion of the Foundational Studies does not grant or not entitle you to be a lead teacher in a Montessori classroom. To become a fully certified lead teacher, you need to complete all the components of the diploma course. You can request a certificate of completion for Foundational Studies for your professional development records.

1. Please complete the registration by Tuesday, April 25, 2023.

2. Upon submission, we will begin sending you emails to onboard you course within 2 weeks of starting.

Cost of the Foundational Studies course is $995 (US).

Upon registration, we will send an invoice from Stripe to the payer's email address.

The invoice is to be paid prior to the start of training to be onboarded accordingly.

NOTE: If you decide to transfer into the full certification training within 2 months of completing Foundational Studies, we will deduct $995 from the tuition. We prioritize financial aid requests for certification applicants. Yet, you can request financial aid for Foundational Studies in the section at the end of the registration in the question, "Anything else you'd like us to know?" in order to be considered. We will follow-up if there is financial aid available for Foundational Studies registrants.

Training Acknowledgement

Completion of the Foundational Studies phase requires access to Montessori materials. You will need access to Montessori materials to practice and complete your course assignments. Without access, it will be difficult to complete this phase of training on time.

You will need to choose between a seminars schedule:

June Daytime Paced Out Seminars (start 6/6/2023): 12-3:30 pm EST on Tuesdays and Thursdays from June 6 - August 17. Deadline to finish Foundational Studies would be August 25.

September Evenings Paced out Seminars (start 9/12/2023): 7-10:30 pm EST on Tuesdays and Thursdays from September 12 - November 16. Deadline to finish Foundational Studies would be December 8.

The Nido and Toddler Foundational Studies will require, on average, between 6-8 hours per week of self-study (including readings, attending online sessions, observations, and practice with the materials) outside of scheduled class hours. I am prepared to make this time commitment.*
